Who are we?

Proximity2Humanity (P2H) was founded by husband and wife Courtney and Razan in May 2025. However, P2H has been at the center of their careers for the past two decades.

P2H was born from a simple belief:

Strong communities are built by the people who call them home.

Whether that community is a small town in North Carolina, a neighborhood in Jordan, or a village recovering from conflict, lasting change happens when local people have the trust, resources, and opportunity to shape their own futures.

Over the course of our careers, we have worked in humanitarian assistance, international development, stabilization, and peacebuilding across more than twenty countries. We have seen communities respond to war, disaster, displacement, poverty, and social change with remarkable resilience. We have also seen neighbors come together to revitalize downtowns, create spaces for artists, mentor young people, and care for one another in everyday ways.

The contexts may be different, but the principle is the same.

Communities already possess the knowledge, relationships, and determination to solve many of their own challenges. What they often lack is access to resources, trusted partnerships, and systems designed to support—not direct—their efforts.

Our approach is rooted in solidarity, not charity.

We believe communities should lead. Donors should have meaningful choices about the causes they support. Resources should flow as close as possible to the people creating change. And every dollar entrusted to us should be managed with transparency, accountability, and respect.

Ultimately, our goal is not to become bigger.

It is to make communities stronger.

Because when communities have the trust, resources, and freedom to lead, they create solutions that no outside organization could ever design on their behalf.
